Since Thanksgiving Break

posted by: Julie

Hey Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know that I did, it was good to be around family and friends for a few days and take a break from classwork.

It has been a interesting couple of weeks here at Rider. There have been many up's and down's in the past few weeks. Sadly, a close friend of mine from Rider, David, he passed away in a car accident right before Thanksgiving break. But to every
sadness, there is happiness that comes through it. I mean, it was amazing to see how many people he was friends with on campus, and how many people he knew. This is all kind of going to back to that sense of community especially when you see an entire campus come together in these kinds of situations.

But on a better note, my sorority also had their date night right before break. Basically, its a night for everyone to get dressed up and go somewhere off campus for kind of a high school homecoming dance if you will. It's not a formal event, but it's definitely a fun time. We have a nice sit down dinner and then for lack of better words, dance the night away.

But now I am about to enter my last week of formal classes at Rider. Next semester I'll be moving back home to student teach. It's really sad to be leaving here after all the wonderful memories I have here with so many great people. I'm sure ill be coming back to school some other time to further my education, but for now, my four years at Rider is drawing to a close. I realize I still have spring semester, but I'll be student teaching at home, and I'm really going to miss this place. Not necessarily the classes, I'm glad to be done with readings and papers, but more the friends and the family that I have grown so close with over these past four years. These are going to be the people I miss the most.

Have a great Holiday!

Break

Well, I just finished my last exam and all I have to do is one last term
paper. I am so excited to be finished with this semester and get a
break. I have so much to do before Christmas. I haven't even started my shopping. I need an entire day off to sleep. I did not go to bed Monday night at all because I was nervously studying for my tax exam. Now that they are all finished I can now sleep and get the holiday festivities started. Hockey has stopped for break so I really have some time on my hands.

I also am leaving for the Dominican Republic on January 5th for two
weeks. I am working on an Orphanage down there. There are twelve of us Rider students going down. One of my teammates is also going so we are looking forward to the fun. I get back on the 20th so until then; have a safe and happy holiday.
