My Thanksgiving Break

posted by: Esi
Happy belated Thanksgiving! Being home for thanksgiving was just what the doctor ordered. I did the typical college student goes home activities, stayed up late, slept in, and caught up with some old friends. I saw two movies while home, "Rent" which was AMAZING, and "Just Friends" starring Ryan Reynolds. That was also a really great movie. I suggest everyone see it while it's in theatres. I even went to my high school's thanksgiving game while home. Overall, it was a pretty good break. Before break I taught my second lesson at the elementary school. This time it was on math. It went really well and the kids had a good time. Our last day of being at the school is approaching and I’ll be really sad to leave.

Last week I also had the pleasure of going to see Pablo Francisco, a comedian, at Rider. The whole night was very fun. It was sponsored by the Student Entertainment Council and the Latin American Student Organization. They set up the Cavalla room like a night club with small round tables and candles. They also brought food from Applebee's for everyone. It was ALL free! The comedian was hilarious and overall it was a really fun night!

Now I'm back at school with two more weeks until classes end. That's very exciting. This weekend I look forward to seeing the Alphi Psi Omega (the theatre fraternity) Saturday Night Live performance. I've seen it the past two years and it's always a good time. I'm very excited to see what they'll do this year.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Back from the break

Hey guys! I hope every one had a nice holiday. Thanksgiving offered me a much needed break. I slept a lot and hung out with lots of friends and family. The only problem is that its Monday and after a four day break it is going to be a rough one.

Well I have a very big decision to make in my life this week. I have two job offers and I have to sign the one contract by Friday and I am not sure what I want to do. I have a huge pro and con list which doesn't seem to help. I am hope I have some type of revelation.

I am very excited for the Rider v. Villanova game this week. It is at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton. It should a sell out crowd and lot of fun. Rider has buses going back and forth so I don't even have to drive.

Other than that I am getting ready for the final three weeks of the semester and getting ready for finals. Until next time.

Last week...

Hey Everyone,

I can't believe it's already November! The semester is flying by so fast. Last Friday I went to the "Stomping Hard on the Rider Yard" step show
hosted by the Intercultural Greek Council. Several step groups attended from different colleges. There were even representatives from Rider. The teams competed and they all did an amazing job. It was so much fun! A lot of people come out to watch which was great. Each team did an amazing job and it was definitely a sight to see!

The nominees of Rider's first annual Cranberry King and Queen Competition also attended. During intermission they had a competition by round of
applause. Whoever got the most applause won for that round of the competition. There were also other competitions including a talent/self expression portion, as well as a costume competition. A friend of mine ran, so it was very exciting to see the things that she came up with.

Last weekend was family day and fortunately it was beautiful out. It was a great Fall day to have people up and around Rider. There was a luncheon held in the student’s center. The Residence Hall Association had a lot of games and activities for children and adults. There were also performances by the Dance team and the group I'm in, The Rider Vibes. Family day was our first performance of the semester with all our new members. We were really nervous and despite some technical difficulties, everything went really well and I think the family and students really liked us.

Family day also had a hayride which was a great idea in such beautiful
weather. They also had tours of the New Student Rec. center. I went in for the first time that day and I must say it is gorgeous! I finally made my way to the gym which is also a really nice. There are TVs in some of the machines which really passes the time while you’re working out. I plan to go more often now.

The weather has been so beautiful which definitely makes for a more
enjoyable week!
Talk to you all real soon!
